6 Different Ways To Use The Same Articles

Let's get other webmasters working for us, introducing us to their readers, spreading our reputation, and creating new links to our site.

On page one of this article, we published new articles on our own website, earning new search engine traffic, and building the loyalty of existing readers.

Now let's publish our new content on other people's websites too.

We'll do this by submitting some of our new articles to article directories, sites that list articles authors have made available to other site owners.

Free Advertising

Here's how the arrangement works:

As authors, we upload some of our articles to the article directory, making them available to other webmasters for free.

In return, the webmasters who use our articles agree to give us free advertising.

They do this by including our credits (written by us) at the bottom of each article they republish.

Our credits are a sentence or two at the end of the article that introduce us to the readers, and provide one or more links back to our site(s).

Cheaters?

Most webmasters are honest, but some people will take our article and publish it on their sites without giving us credit. It happens.

We can protect ourselves somewhat by using http://copyscape.com. They have a free service, and a paid service which will automatically search the web for duplicates of our articles.

Cheaters are annoying, and deserve whatever pathetic life they are creating for themselves, but we won't let them slow us down. Let's keep our eye on the ball, and keep right on publishing.

Free Links

Making our articles available to other site owners in this way helps build the other crucial component of our site's success, incoming links.

We get a link to our site when our article is published in the article directory. And that's just the beginning.

If our articles are good enough, they will be picked up by other webmasters and republished on a number of sites, earning us many more incoming links.

We'll get traffic both from the links to us on other sites, and from the improved search engine rankings that can come as more sites link to us.

Write It Once, Publish It Many Times

So, as you can see, each well written article can have an active productive life of it's own outside of the boundaries of our own website.

If the article is truly useful and interesting, it may continue to spread around the Net on it's own for years, earning us new links at every stop.

Imagine having 100 quality articles making their way around the Net, being picked up by new webmasters year after year.

This is what we want to do, give some of our articles their own lives on the Net, so they can keep spreading and working for us long after we finished the piece.

Article directories are springing up all over these days, and we can easily find many of them by doing a Google search for the phrase "article directory".

Automating Submissions

That's a lot of article directories! And it's probably only the tip of the iceberg of all that are available.

Some people manually submit their articles to only the most popular directories, while others use specialized software to auto submit their articles to many directories at once. We'll cover this topic in a future article.
